Rabbit Ings is a great place to take your dog. It has clearly defined paths the whole way around and it is impossible to get lost. It is easily accessible with it being located between Shafton and Royston and there is a large free car park on site which sometimes has an ice-cream van.
Lottie always loves these walks; there are always other dogs to run and play with and a lake has formed towards the bottom which is ideal to cool off in. Unless you decide to walk to the top to see the amazing views (gander at the pic below), the walk is relatively flat making it a good walk for those in a wheelchair or for those who have small children in push chairs.
This walk features in my top ten list of dog walks in Barnsley for many reasons: it has a great car park, its a quick circular walk, its popular with dog walkers so Lottie has someone to play with and its a great space to take pictures.
I have been here a few times now to do some photo shoots and I always get some great pictures. For my latest photo shoot, look here. There’s also a little sneak peak below.
